Vini - there are 12 DOC wines in Le Marche, here are our favourites.
Verdicchio - a dry white wine, often in distinctively shaped dark green bottles.
Falerio - a local white wine, fairly fruity (the vines start at the end of the main road out of the village) At certain times of the year available alla spina (draft bottles) from the local bar for only a couple of euros.
Other whites include Bianchello del Metauro, and Bianco dei Colli Maceratesi
Sfuso - our local red. Very fruity, almost blackcurrants instead of grapes. Quite sweet, and extremely drinkable. Also available draft from the bar for only a few euros a bottle.
Rosso Piceno - almost sweet, very fruity and substantial.  Needs to be tried to be believed.
